Outrageous Cherry "Seemingly Solid Reality"
Outrageous Cherry - Fell
Outrageous Cherry - Un-American Girls
Both tracks are taken from Outrageous Cherry's forthcoming full length "Seemingly Solid Reality" (CD/LP on a red vinyl limited edition), available on June 1st via Alive Records. Recently the New Pornographers has released a special bonus 7″ entitled "Togetherness -The New Pornographers play Outrageous Cherry." The band consists of main man, Matthew Smith (guitar, vocals) who produced albums for the Go, Nathaniel Mayer, Paul "Wine" Jones, and others, and has played with Epic Soundtracks, Andre Williams, the Witches, and Destroy All Monsters, also known for the Volebeats, Larry Ray (lead guitar) who was a member of 70’s Detroit rockers the Ivories, and played with legendary psych/folk guitarist Ted Lucas (Spike Drivers/Misty Wizards), Sean Ellwood (bass/the Cyril Lords, Reptile Forcefield), Samantha Linn (drums/Little Claw, the Arch Mystics).
Outrageous Cherry emerged from Detroit's underground scene of the early 90's, and quickly advanced from playing Troggs, Stooges and Monkees covers in the basement to becoming a prolific and enigmatic rock n' roll group with no cymbals, sometimes elaborate studio production, an inclination towards playing really long guitar solos, and Dylanesque amounts of lyrics.

So Percussion-Matmos - Treasure
'Treasure' is taken from the forthcoming collaboration album "Treause State" by Brooklyn's So Percussion and the Baltimore's Matmos, available on July 13th (June 8th, digital release) via Cantaloupe.
Starting as a gentle exercise in Martin Denny-esque Polynesian fantasy, Treasure erupts midway into a delirium of squealing animal noises, fuzzed out sitar and electric guitar from Mark Lightcap (of Acetone); after the squall, the song regains composure and returns gently to earth on a lush bed of grand piano and accordion from Zeena Parkins.

James Jackson Toth - Waiting In Vain (2008)
Cult singer/songwriter James Jackson Toth cut his teeth as the leader of New York-based avant-garde/freak folk ensemble Wooden Wand & the Vanishing Voice and their myriad incarnations. The Memphis-based artist, along with his wife, Jex Toth, have put out numerous collections of eclectic psychedelic folk-rock under an even more diverse set of names, many pressed onto CD-Rs and sold at shows in extremely limited quantities. For his first "official" solo album, Toth looked to producer Steve Fisk (Nirvana, Soul Coughing, Soundgarden) and a small army of San Francisco-based musicians from the likes of Deerhoof, Vetiver, and Geraldine Fibbers to craft a nuanced, decidedly straightforward collection of songs echoing everybody from Richard Hawley and Chris Isaak to Jason Molina and Bob Dylan. Waiting in Vain arrived in summer 2008 on the Rykodisc label. --by James Christopher Monger (All Music Guide)
