Dawn McCarthy & Bonnie 'Prince "What The Brothers Sang"



Dawn McCarthy (Faun Fables) & Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy collaborative, a tribute to the Every Brothers album "What The Brothers Sang" is out NOW via Drag City / Domino UK. It was recorded and mixed by David Ferguson at Butcher Shop Studio in Nashville spring 2012. The songs were played by Emmett Kelley (Cairo Gang), Dave Roe and Kenny Malone, with featured players Billy Contreras, John Mock, Dan Dugmore, Matt Sweeney, Pete Townsend, John Catchings, Bobby Wood, Joey Miskalin, Nils Frykdahl (Faun Fables), Ian McAllister, Joey Baron, Dr. Chris Vivio, and Noah Tag.

also.... another Will Oldham's collaborative split single is available via Baltimore's Friends Records. It features Nat Fowler, Chris Freeland and Marc Miller of Oxes teaming up with Will Oldham (Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy) and Bob Weston (Shellac, Mission of Burma) for a cover of Shery Crow’s “Strong Enough” (Baerwald, Botrell, Crow, MacLeod, Riketts). Recorded by Bob Weston, the track is exclusive to this 7” and has been hidden deep in the vaults for years. Side B of the split includes Marc Miller, Will Redman and John Dierker of Microkingdom enlisting Sam Herring (Future Islands) on vocals and Liz Meredith on viola for a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” (Springsteen).
