SISKIYOU is the recording project of Colin Huebert (former drummer of Great Lake Swimmers) in collaboration with Erik Arnesen (current guitarist of Great Lake Swimmers).  Siskiyou's self-titled debut album was recorded by Huebert inside stairwells, bathrooms, hotel rooms, and on beaches and rooftops in the greater Vancouver area. The album is available now via Constellation.

'Starting' is taken from the first 7" single for the upcoming new full-length "The Dark Leaves" (out in April via Altitude Records) of Philly to now Brooklyn-based Matt Pond PA, and it is the first release for the "The Threeep" series.  Contributing to these sessions are Eve Miller on cello, Christian Frederickson on viola and Dan Crowell on drums.  The album was recorded in a remote studio near Bearsville/NY, with Chris Hansen (engineer, co-producer). Also Matt Pond and Chris Hansen composed the soundtrack for the film "Lebanon, PA" (directed by Ben Hickernell).

Toronto-based Picastro have continued to mine a rich seam of beautifully melancholic (and sometimes menacing) avant-folk/rock. The fourth album, "Become Secret", finds them on top form once again, with the familiar accompaniment of cello, acoustic guitar, drums and piano employed to great effect on songs that incorporate Eastern European folk themes, bleak cinematic soundscapes and dark, unsettling pop. Frontwoman and songwriter Liz Hysen shares vocal duties on several songs with guest vocalists including Tony Dekker (Great Lake Swimmers), Brendan Massei (Viking Moses), Colleen Kinsella (Fire On Fire, Cerberus Shoal), and John McIntyre.  (Monotreme Records)
