Real Estate New Song on Smugglers Way FlexiZine



Smugglers Way is Domino and Ribbon’s first ever limited edition zine featuring FIVE individual, multi-colored flexi discs of EXCLUSIVE, UNRELEASED songs from Dirty Projectors, Real Estate, Cass McCombs, John Maus, and Villagers. Smugglers Way was sold exclusively at indie retail for Record Store Day, April 21st 2012. 

The zine comprises 24 pages of original art and prose from Domino and Ribbon artists. Highlights include a short story penned by James Yorkston; a long form poem by Laura Marling; short form pieces by Alex Bleeker (Real Estate), Ade Blackburn (Clinic), and Tom Fleming (Wild Beasts); illustrations from Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Andrea Estella (Twin Sister), Conor O’Brien (Villagers) and Jon Hopkins; photography from Jana Hunter (Lower Dens), and an original arranged score of music by Owen Pallett. Bjorn Copeland of Black Dice designed the cover and Rob Carmichael at SEEN is responsible for the art direction and layout.

"Last Kind Words" is a new feature film written and directed by Kevin Barker, produced by Duane Andersen. Starring: Brad Dourif, Sarah Steele, Alexia Fast, Spencer Daniels, Marianne Hagan, Clay Wilcox.
The music in the film includes Geeshie Wiley's 'Last Kind Words', P.G. Six, Espers ('Dead Queen'), Sibylle Baier ('Girl'), Feathers ('Tiny Lights'), and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (aka Lichens) composed a number of new pieces especially for the film.

Megan Reilly - Sew The Threads Into Your Heart

The Memphis native, now New Jersey-based singer/songwriter Megan Reilly is set to release her first album in six years since her 2006's album "Let Your Ghost Go" (Carrot Top), "The Well" is due out on April 24th via Carrot Top Records. The band for "The Well" consists of James Mastro (The Bongos, Health and Happiness Show, Patti Smith, Ian Hunter) on guitar, Steve Goulding (Mekons, Waco Bros) on drums, and Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu) on bass, and the guests include John Wesley Harding (a duet on 'Old Man and the Bird' written by Harding himself) and Lenny Kaye who plays guitar on the first two tracks of the album. Also there's a cover of Iris Dement's song 'After You're Gone.' Take a listen 'Sew the Threads Into Your Heart' off her upcoming album. Digital single is available now on the iTunes.

Both tracks are taken from the newest 6-track digital/cassette EP "(Love) That's All" by the Italian duo Welcome Back Sailors (Danilo Incerti and Alessio Artoni) through Crash Symbols' bandcamp, HERE. Both tracks are taken from the first full-length "Choreography" by East London’s psych-pop four-piece Weird Dreams, due out on April 2nd via Tough Love Records. Pre-orders will be available early March. 
Weird Dreams are: Doran (Guitar and Vocals), Craig (Drums), James (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Hugo (Bass and Backing Vocals). The band was formed by Doran and Craig when they met working in a vintage clothes shop. Influences: The Beach Boys and David Lynch, Syl Johnson, O.V. Wright, Barbara Mason, Shirley Walton....
